Brandon is a quick-witted, creative thinker with a penchant for popping bubble wrap and squeezing stress balls. He and his family of four kids and a dog named Buffy the Vampire Slayer reside in a peaceful Utah valley near a canyon’s opening. Brandon appreciates meeting his readers and learning what they thought of his books.

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how to bring back the Fablehaven cast in a new series. In 2006, my debut novel, Fablehaven, was released. In 2010, I completed the fifth book in the series, and I stated that there would not be the sixth book in the series in the back of the book. I did mention, though, that I envisioned returning for a second season. Today is the day! As the idea for Dragonwatch developed over the years prior, I eventually felt forced to write it down. This is the first installment of a planned five-book series.

If you like Dragonwatch and have not yet read the other books in the Fablehaven series, you should. Many thrilling experiences await you, and you’ll learn a great deal about Kendra and Seth, their loved ones, and the mystical sanctuaries they protect. I can’t wait for the release of the next book in the Dragonwatch series. If you enjoy reading books, you should tell others about them.

Realizing how challenging it would be to make a living as a writer, I often hid my ambition lest people worry about me or think I was insane. As a young child, I used to spend a lot of time thinking and making up games for my made-up relatives and friends to play. Since I was a kid, whenever I had some free time, I would fantasize or make up stories. The stories grew richer and more intriguing as I did, and I resolved that I should share them with the world.

At that point, I decided to devote myself seriously to writing. When I was in high school and college, I honed my skills mostly through the writing of short tales. My first novel was started in 2000, the year I graduated from Brigham Young University. Multiple agents and publishing houses passed on the manuscript before an editor at Shadow Mountain Publishing noticed its potential. Shadow Mountain wanted my debut novel, Fablehaven, but ultimately did not purchase it.

Fablehaven was published by the first publisher to look at it after the author had done significant book shopping for that first work. at how quickly it was able to amass a fan base. Since the book seemed to acquire popularity everywhere it was mentioned, I was able to launch my career rapidly. Six months after the release of the first Fablehaven, I was able to give up my day job as a copywriter.

After finishing the sequel to Fablehaven, I started working on The Candy Shop War because my publisher wouldn’t let me release more than one Fablehaven book per year at the time.

It’s a wonderful day for me because I finally got what I wanted. Between writing and marketing, my workweek is longer than it has ever been, but I enjoy it immensely. Due to my deep appreciation for my loved ones, it is with great satisfaction that I report to work each day. The idea for Beyonders has been developing in my mind for the past decade.

A desire to create such a tale is what inspired me to begin writing novels. The main characters of Beyonders leave our world to explore the exotic land of Lyrian. To help set this new world apart from our own, I fabricated a number of original fantasy races. I thought it was really important that these people didn’t look like any of the mythical creatures from our own cultures. As an example, consider Amar Kabal.

Even if their bodies are killed, they can regenerate and live again, and the seeds they leave behind will ensure that their legacy lives on. Remember, there’s only one of those. The novel Beyonders is about heroic people. Almost all of Lyrian’s heroes have been bought off or eliminated by the game’s commencement thanks to Emperor Maldor’s policies. Many of the survivors are either injured or have given up hope. Two kids from Earth are getting training to become heroes, and some of these battered heroes are coming out of retirement.

One of my favorite historical personalities is the Blind King, who was the greatest swordsman in Lyrian before the emperor blinded him. Already two books in the Beyonders series have been penned. I think the first book tells a great story and introduces the reader to the Lyrian world and many of the characters we’ll be following in the subsequent volumes. However, the story’s true trajectory won’t become clear until the second volume. I know, without a doubt, that my third book is my best work to date.

The Five Kingdoms, The Beyonders, and Fablehaven were all number one bestsellers for Brandon Mull on The New York Times Best Sellers List. Brandon is a sharp thinker who enjoys squeezing stress balls and popping bubble wrap. He and his wife and four children live in a quiet Utah valley close to a canyon’s mouth, and their dog is named Buffy after the fictional slayer of vampires. Brandon enjoys getting feedback from readers in person.

I’ve given a lot of time and thought to the question of how to resurrect the characters from Fablehaven for another series. This is my first novel, and it was published in 2006. At the end of the fifth installment, published in 2010, I announced that there would be no further installments in the series. Nonetheless, I did reveal that I have season two plans. It was inevitable that I would have to commit Dragonwatch to paper after years of thinking about it and developing the concept. Eventually, there will be five books in this series, and this one serves as the prologue.

You should continue reading the Fablehaven series if you enjoyed Dragonwatch. You’ll have many exciting adventures and find out a lot about Kendra and Seth, their families, and the magical places they guard. The next book in the Dragonwatch series can’t come soon enough for me. You should recommend the books to others if you like reading them.

For fear of others worrying about me or thinking I was crazy, I would often hide my ambition to earn a living as a writer. When I was a kid, I often spent time daydreaming and creating games for imaginary people in my head to enjoy. When I was younger, I used to daydream or make up stories whenever I had some downtime. As I progressed, the stories deepened and became more compelling; I decided I needed to tell them to the world.

For this reason, I resolved to give writing my full attention. Short story writing was where I found the most success as a form of practice in high school and university. In 2000, the year I graduated from Brigham Young University, I began writing my first novel. After being rejected by numerous agents and publishing houses, the book finally caught the eye of an editor at Shadow Mountain Publishing. Even though Shadow Mountain expressed interest in purchasing my first work, Fablehaven, they finally decided not to do so.

After extensive shopping around, the author finally settled on the first publisher to look at Fablehaven. at the lightning speed with which it gained a following. My career took off quickly after I published the book since it seemed to become famous wherever it was referenced. Six months after the first Fablehaven was published, I was able to quit my day job as a copywriter.

I’m having a fantastic day because I just got what I wanted! My work week is longer than it has ever been because of my increased focus on both writing and marketing, but I am loving every minute of it. Having a strong sense of gratitude for my loved ones makes going to work every day a pleasure. For the past ten years, I’ve been toying with the notion of writing Beyonders.

That’s why I got into book writing in the first place: to write that kind of story. The protagonists of Beyonders travel from our world to the fantastical world of Lyrian. I made up a bunch of new fantasy races to further differentiate this world from our own. I thought it was crucial that these folks didn’t resemble any of the fantastic beasts from our own traditions. The Amar Kabal is a good illustration of this. Their skulls are equipped with seeds.

They can revive themselves even if their bodies are destroyed, and the offspring they produce will carry on their legacy.  The characters in Beyonders are heroes. By the start of the game, almost all of Lyrian’s heroes have been bribed or eliminated as a result of Emperor Maldor’s actions. Unfortunately, many of the survivors are either hurt or have given up hope. These beaten-up heroes are coming out of retirement to train two Earth kids to be heroes.

The first two volumes of the Beyonders series are complete. In my opinion, the first book does a fantastic job of setting the stage for the rest of the series and introducing the reader to the Lyrian universe and many of the characters we’ll be following. The full course of the plot, however, is not revealed until the second volume. Without a shadow of a doubt, I consider my third book to be my magnum opus.
