Christopher Kurt Bahr is a former professional football- and soccer player who was born on February 3, 1953. He played both of these sports professionally. In the National Football League (NFL), he played the position of placekicker, while in the North American Soccer League (NASL), he played the position of midfielder. Neshaminy High School, located in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, was Bahr’s high school of choice. Bahr received three All-American honors for his soccer and one All-American honor for his football performance when he was a student at Penn State.

When it came to scoring for the Nittany Lions in 1975, he led the team with four field goals that were over fifty yards. In punts, he averaged 39 yards by the yard. In 1975, Bahr received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Five years later, he went on to acquire his Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law. During this period, he continued to play for the Raiders while still attending school on a part-time basis. When the Philadelphia Atoms participated in the North American Soccer League draft in 1975, they selected Bahr in the first round of the draft.

As a first-year midfielder, he had an instant impact, matching the National Association of Soccer Leagues (NASL) scoring record for most goals scored by a child born in the United States by scoring 11 goals, including two games with two goals and four game-winning goals. During the game against the New York Cosmos, which took place at Veterans Stadium in front of 20,124 spectators, Bahr also scored the momentous first goal in the history of the Atoms. The National Association of Soccer Leagues (NASL) awarded him the Rookie of the Year award in 1975. Before leaving for the National Football League, Bahr participated in 22 games with the Atoms and scored 11 goals.

Additionally, Bahr joined his Atoms coach, Al Miller, on the United States National Team in the year 1976. During the qualifying stages for the XXI Olympic Games, which took place in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, he was the one who scored both goals for the United States team, which defeated Bermuda by a score of 2-0. In 1976, Bahr made the conversion from American football to American football and was picked by the Cincinnati Bengals, where he worked as a placekicker. Before the Oakland Raiders acquired him in 1980, he was a member of the Bengals for a total of four seasons.

He was a member of their roster for most of the 1980s, following them to Los Angeles in 1982. During his time with them, he established himself as a reliable placekicker, which led to him winning two Super Bowl victories. The Raiders’ record for most career field goals was 162 until Sebastian Janikowski broke it in 2007. He is the second all-time leader in scoring with the Raiders, with 817 points, and he holds the record for most career field goals. Both of the Raiders’ Super Bowl triumphs came, in 1981 and 1984, thanks to Bahr’s kicks.

It was in 1983 that he had a field goal percentage of 78%, which is considered to be his finest year as a professional. During the last year of his career, he had a successful season with the San Diego Chargers, during which he kicked 17 field goals and 29 field goal attempts. His inclusion on the All-Rookie squad in 1976 and his selection to the Sporting News All-AFC team in 1977 are both noteworthy accomplishments. The National Soccer Hall of Fame inductee Walter Bahr is Bahr’s father. Bahr is the daughter of Walter Bahr. Davies Ann, his mother, was a competitive swimmer at Temple University and a physical education teacher at Penn State. She was also a teacher at Penn State.

In addition to being a part of the United States Olympic soccer team in 1972, his brother Casey Bahr was a member of the Navy soccer squad that represented the United States in the 1972 Olympics. His younger brother, Matt Bahr, was a notable placekicker in the National Football League (NFL) and also played professional soccer. Together, he and Matt are two of just six players who have played in both the NFL and professional or professional soccer. At Penn State, Sister Davies Ann Bahr was a gymnast who performed at the All-American level.

Chris Bahr hosts an annual Chris Bahr Kicking Camp, which is a three-day workshop for students in grades 7–12 at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Following his time in the National Football League, Bahr went on to get a law degree from Southwestern Law School. He then went on to practice law in the states of California and Pennsylvania until 1999, when his license was revoked for failing to pay bar fees. At this time, he is working as a financial adviser at ProVest Management Group in Columbus, Ohio, where he is responsible for managing the assets of professional athletes.

All of his family members, including his wife Eve, who is a corporate attorney, and their two children, reside in Boalsburg, Pennsylvania. While attending Slippery Rock University, C.J. Bahr, Bahr’s son, serves as the placekicker. Bahr, who was 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighed 170 pounds, was taken by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the National Football League Draft in 1976. He was selected by the Bengals after he had completed an All-American season at Penn State. The Sporting News placed him on the All-Rookie Team in 1976 and picked him to the All-American Conference Football Team in 1977. This approach paid off quickly, as he was named to both teams.

However, Bahr began his professional career by playing for the Philadelphia Atoms of the North American Soccer League. It is possible that this was because his father, Walter Bahr, had been a prominent figure on the world stage. In the end, he made the transition to football after he had scored 11 goals in 22 games during his first season. Al Davis, the managing general of the Raiders, made one of those amazing maneuvers that he was renowned for when he signed and departed Cincinnati as a free agency. This occurred after Davis had spent four terrific seasons with the Bengals.

Following in the footsteps of fellow kickers Sebastian Janikowski and George Blanda, Bahr became the third-leading scorer in the history of the Raiders NFL franchise. Daniel Carlson, the most recent great kicker for the Silver and Black, is likely to ultimately catch up to him and pass him for the position. With the Raiders for a total of nine seasons. The total number of points that Bahr scored was 817, and he made 162 of 249 field goal attempts (65.1%), as well as 331 of 350 extra-point attempts (94.6%). His greatest season was 1983, when he averaged 77.8 percent on field goals and 51.53 percent on extra points, resulting in a career-high total of 114 points. He also had a perfect record on field goals.

During his time with the Bengals in 1979, he hit a field goal from 55 yards, five from 53 yards, and two from 52 yards. His career-long field goal was 55 yards. Bahr also made 15 of 19 field goal attempts and all 33 of his extra-point attempts in postseason games for the Raiders. He made field goals of 46 and 35 yards, as well as three extra points, as the Raiders defeated the Philadelphia Eagles by a score of 27-10 in Super Bowl XV. In Super Bowl XVIII, the Raiders defeated the Washington Redskins by a score of 38-9, and Bahr made five extra points and a field goal from 21 yards.

Instead, Chris Bahr, a former kicker for the Raiders, is still considered to be the best No. 10 in Oakland’s storied history. During his nine seasons and 134 games with the Raiders, Bahr made 162 field goals out of a total of 249 and 331 extra points out of a total of 350. However, according to the official website of the Raiders, he is now the third-best scorer in the history of the team. The fact that the former Nittany Lion ended up winning two Super Bowls—one in Oakland and the other in Los Angeles—is maybe the most remarkable achievement he has ever accomplished.

Bahr was signed by the Cincinnati Bengals as a free agent after he was released from his contract with the team. The Raiders went on to win two Super Bowls during his time with the team. Throughout his career with the Raiders, Bahr finished third all-time in scoring with 817 points, including 162 field goal attempts out of 249 and 331 extra point tries out of 350. He remained with San Diego for the last year of his professional career. A total of 528 cards of standard size are included in the Topps football card collection from 1981. Rack packs, cello packs, and wax packs with 15 cards each were all available for purchase for this collection.

A pattern that resembles a pennant is located at the bottom of the fronts. This design incorporates both the name of the player and the name of the squad. The position of the player is included at the bottom of the list. With a horizontal layout, the backs include year-by-year records, highlights, and a cartoon. The collection has a variety of Super Action (SA) cards featuring some of the best players in the game. League leaders (1-6), record breakers (331-336), and playoffs (492-494) are some of the subsets among the players. Team Leader (TL) cards include a checklist for the team on the reverse and statistics leaders shown on the front of the card.

The Joe Montana Rookie Card is the most important in this series. There are also Rookie Cards for players like Dwight Clark, Vince Evans, Dan Hampton, Art Monk, Eddie Murray, Billy Sims, and Kellen Winslow. We’re indeed going to bring this back. We invite you to join us every morning as we count down the 99 days before Penn State’s football season begins in 2012 versus Ohio. Based on the player’s jersey number, a player is selected to symbolize the number of days that are left before the season. If you were not there in past years, you will not be able to participate in this activity.
