Dominic Cooper is the son of Julie (née Heron), a nursery school teacher, and Brian Cooper, an auctioneer, and was born and raised in Greenwich, London. He has two brothers, Simon and Nathan, both of whom are members of the band The Modern, as well as a half-brother, James, and a half-sister, Emma. E. T. Heron, who published The Kinematograph Weekly, was his maternal great-grandfather, a film buff.

Dominic went to John Ball Primary School in Blackheath, London, then Thomas Tallis School in nearby Kidbrooke. He subsequently studied acting and film editing at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), graduating in 2000. Cooper shared an apartment with James Corden, his co-star in The History Boys and Starter for ten years, until Corden and his wife, Julia Carey, decided to create a kid.

Cooper was the one who introduced Corden to Julia, a long-time friend who was working at Save the Children when he and Corden called in late one night. He is also Corden’s first child, Max’s godfather. Cooper dated Amanda Seyfried, his Mamma Mia! co-star, on and off from 2008 to 2009. He was in a relationship with actress Ruth Negga from 2010 till 2016.

They met on the set of the National Theatre’s production of Phèdre in 2009, and have since starred opposite each other in the 2011 short film Hello Carter, the 2016 blockbuster Warcraft, and AMC’s Preacher (2016–2019). They shared a house in Primrose Hill, London. Despite the fact that the couple had broken up in 2016, the news was only reported in April 2018. Cooper has been dating actress Gemma Chan since the beginning of 2018.

Greene in My Week with Marilyn. Cooper’s debut appearance as Howard Stark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was in 2011.

He initially appears in the film Captain America: The First Avenger, followed by the Marvel One-Shot Agent Carter two years later, as well as the television series of the same name in 2015 and 2016. He portrays vampire Henry Sturges in the 2012 film Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. He was cast in the lead part in the unproduced Albert Hughes film Motor City, based on the Black Listed script of the same name, around this period.

In February 2012, he signed on to replace Clive Owen in the financial thriller Cities, but he later dropped out. After production delays, Cities was canceled. He appeared in two films the next year, Miss You Already and The Lady in the Van, both directed by Nicholas Hytner, who had previously directed him in the stage adaptation of His Dark Materials and both the theatrical and cinematic adaptations of The History Boys. Cooper starred as Jesse Custer in the AMC drama Preacher, which premiered in May 2016. In June 2016, he co-starred in the Warcraft film adaption, which was released.

He played John Wilmot, Earl of Rochester, the character established on stage by John Malkovich and performed by Johnny Depp in the 2004 film, in a well-received West End revival of Stephen Jeffreys’ 1994 drama The Libertine at the Haymarket Theatre in late 2016. In the 2018 sequel film Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Cooper reprised his role as Sky. Cooper was nominated for a Drama Desk Award in 2006 for his work on The History Boys on Broadway.

For his role in the film adaptation of the play, he garnered nominations for the British Independent Film Award, British Film Critics’ Circle Award, London Critics’ Circle Film Award, and an Empire Award. Dominic Cooper has opened out about kissing ex-girlfriend Amanda Seyfried on the set of Mamma Mia 2 years after they broke up in real life “It was a wonderful environment.”

It was fascinating to observe how our lives had changed in the last ten years. It’s been a long time, and it was great to see her again.” The 40-year-old actor’s admission comes after Seyfried confessed that her spouse was “jealous” when he learned that the two would be collaborating again. Sadoski had “problems” with the arrangement, according to the actress who plays Sophie in the successful films.

In an interview with the Mirror, Seyfried said, “I believe that he is concerned about the same things that I would be concerned about if we were hanging out with his long-term ex-girlfriend.” “It’s always like, ‘I’m so in love with this person, so that person must be so in love with her,'” she says. Despite this, she said, her other half has been “extremely supportive” because he, too, is a fan of the franchise.

There’s Dominic Cooper, flaunting his toned Abbas… Abs on the beach, apologies. My, my, my! It’s no surprise that his new girlfriend Gemma Chan can’t get enough of him cuddling up to her. Dominic, 40, and Crazy Rich Asians actress Gemma Chan, 35, were on a romantic getaway to Formentera in the Balearic Islands. He dated Amanda Seyfried, 32, from the movie Mamma Mia!, and only started dating Gemma a few weeks ago.

In 2017, Gemma Arterton, who starred in Sherlock, Fresh Meat, and Secret Diary of a Call Girl, divorced comedian Jack Whitehall. The pair dressed up for a night out after leaving the beach. Could it be I Do,  Dominic and Amanda began dating after appearing in the first Mamma Mia film as Sky and Sophie, a love-struck couple.  Amanda and her husband Thomas Sadoski now have a child, but she will reconcile with her imaginary bae Dominic this year.

Cooper is dressed all in black and strolling around a spacious suite in a posh Knightsbridge hotel. The day is just getting started (at least for him), so there’s no rush to sit down. Instead, the focus is on the overpriced sandwich in question, as well as a regal chariot passing by outside. After reporting the Primrose Hill heist on a local forum, the Mama Mia! star is offering a reward for any information that leads to the recovery of the classic 1978 Dino 308 GT4 automobile, estimated to be worth £83,000.

Reps confirmed the news to Metro.co.uk, disclosing the latest setback for the devoted car enthusiast who had hoped to possess the vehicle since he was a child. ‘He was first targeted a few months ago when the Range Rover he was using to bring freshly cooked food to the NHS for the charity Cook-19 was stolen,’ they claimed.

‘This car has been a long-held dream buy for him (he has collected toy figures of the model since he was a boy), so any information on its whereabouts would be greatly appreciated, and he is giving a reward.’ Dominic had written to neighbors about the most recent theft, saying, ‘Please keep a lookout.’ Dinosaur is stolen in 1978. As a child, the actor fantasized about having the car ‘Please keep yourself and your belongings safe; maybe, the rising rate of burglaries and theft in our neighborhood will eventually decrease.

‘ The theft is thought to have occurred on Friday, February 19, according to a Met Police statement. This week, the 41-year-old was seen talking to a friend while hanging out the upper window of his London house, clad in a plain white tee with sunglasses pulling back his hair. However, while peering out the window during lockdown to see anyone, simply anyone, is quite typical, Dominic’s companions were… um, not.

For some reason, the actor popped up a sheep figurine on the ledge above the below-window window, as well as a disembodied head of a man with severely puckered lips. Dominic, did he intend to frighten people away from the house? Find a way to put stag do props to good use. Why add to the uncertainty during these tough times? Consider your mission completed, Dom, if it’s a combination of all three.

The Preacher actor is spending time alone with girlfriend Gemma Chan, who was seen moving her belongings into his house just weeks after their relationship was revealed in September 2018. Dominic and Gemma have been volunteering with Cook-19, a non-profit that provides volunteer cooked meals and supplies to NHS staff during the pandemic, in addition to designing some very unusual window arrangements.

Dominic is friends with the organization’s founder, Lulu Dillon, and wrote on Instagram in March, “A wonderful lady I know has started a non-profit to provide freshly cooked food and care packages to frontline NHS staff who are having difficulty feeding themselves or their families due to isolation or long shifts.” Please ask any NHS staff in the London region who may require assistance to DM @donate cook 19 or email their information to donatecook19@gmail.com.’
