The American actor Joe Manganiello is known for his work in theatre, film and television. He is also a director, producer, writer and narrator. Manganiello was born in the United States in Pittsburgh. In his early days, he excelled in football, volleyball, basketball, and many other sports. He aspired to be a filmmaker and followed his passion. He studied theatre, writing and producing in a studio film called ‘Out of Courage 2: Out of Vengeance’ in Pittsburgh University. Joe Manganiello was born to Charles John and Susan Manganiello in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on 28 December 1976. His dad’s descent is Italian while his mother’s ancestors are Armenian, German and Croatian. He attended St. Bernard and later Mt. Lebanon High School, where he received an honorary degree.
He was highly effective in sports, such as football, basketball and volleyball, and used to be the teams’ captain in all three of his high school sports. He started acting with Jud Fry’s role in producing the play ‘Oklahoma!’ in his school. He was also interested in filmmaking. After a number of injuries, he had to stop participating in sports and decided instead to focus on his film career.
After secondary school he applied to the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama but was not accepted. He then studied at the University of Pittsburgh and after one year applied again to Carnegie Mellon.
He also made, wrote and played in the movie Out of Courage 2: Out of Vengeance as a student. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2000. Joe Manganiello had appeared in several plays, such as ‘When We Dead Awaken’ and ‘The Merchant of Venice,’ while studying at Carnegie Mellon University.
He made his film debut in 2002, with a role in Sam Raimi’s super heroic film ‘Spider-Man.’ He was playing Peter Parker’s rival, who is trying to bully him at college. He was featured in the action thriller film ‘Sabotage’ in 2014. The film was a business disappointment that earned about half its budget. Negative reviews were also received. He then appeared in the film ‘Knight of the Cups’ in 2015. He also appeared in the same year in the romantic comedy movie ‘Tumbledown.’
His most important work in 2015 was the comedy movie ‘Magic Mike XXL.’ The film was a huge commercial success, just like its ‘Magic Mike’ prequel in 2012. He was featured in the movie ‘Pee Wee’s Holiday’ in 2016.
In the 2017 film ‘Justice League’ on the basis of the popular DC comics super-hero team, he played a non-accredited role. In the animated film ‘Smurfs: The Lost Village,’ He also had a voice role.
