Mayorkun was born in Osun State, Nigeria, on 23 March 1994. Born into a family of entertainers, he is the first child of three. His mother is an actress from Nollywood, and his father is an artist and film maker. At a very young age, Mayorkun was part of the choir where, according to him, he “learnt the rudiments of music”

In 2017, Mayorkun embarked on a countrywide tour that saw him perform in more than 35 schools. He ended the year 2017 with his first “The Mayor of Lagos” headline concert in Lagos. In 2018, the concert of the Mayor of Lagos continued with a performance in the town of Ibadan and the capital, Abuja. A date was also confirmed for the Lagos edition.
