Nickolas Gene Carter was born in Jamestown, New York, to Jane Elizabeth and Robert Gene Carter. He began playing numerous songs recorded by other artists at a very young age, the most popular being ‘Breaking Up Is Hard to Do’ and ‘Uptown Girl’.
