As Peter Clay Carroll, Pete Carroll was born on September 15, 1951, in San Francisco. He is currently 67 years old. Actor: Cubed (2009), Carroll’s Trip to Seattle Delayed (2010), NFL Monday Night Football (2009), (1970).

James Edward “Jim” Carroll and Rita (née Ban) Carroll were his parents. His Irish paternal great-grandparents and his Croatian maternal grandparents, both from the Sibenik region, immigrated to the United States.

In Larkspur, California, he attended Redwood High School. As a high school freshman, he was required to bring a doctor’s clearance to try out for football because he weighed only 110 pounds (50 kilograms) at the time of his freshman year of high school.

Football, basketball, and baseball all had him as an athlete of the year as a senior, and he was named Athlete of the Year three times. In April 2009, he was honored in the Redwood High School Athletic Hall of Fame as a member of the inaugural class. The LSU defensive back Tommy Casanova was one of his favorite players as a kid, and he always wanted to coach there. On May 21, 1976, he married Glenna Goranson, whom he had previously divorced from Wendy Pearl, whom they had married in 1973.

When he was a student at the University of the Pacific, he met Glena Goranson. They were both active in sports, with Pete as the Seatle football coach and Glena as an indoor volleyball player. Carroll’s first marriage lasted only a few months, but he now has three children with his current wife.

Even their oldest son Brennan wants to be a football coach in the future. As a graduate assistant at USC, he worked with his father and later became the wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Miami. He is said to have earned a wage boost in 2016, bringing his annual salary to more than $8 million. Sean Payton was the NFL’s highest-paid coach until he signed a contract deal for $8 million. Belichick, the New England Patriots head coach, earns $7.5 million per year.

There are few coaches in football now as successful as him. USC’s Trojans returned to the national spotlight under his leadership, accumulating a 97-19 record in nine seasons. USC’s seven straight Pac-10 championships are outlined in this book, and he is currently molding the Seattle Seahawks’ program in the NFL.

Over the course of his career, Carroll honed his distinctive coaching method through trial and error. His recruitment, conditioning, and game-day rituals all contribute to preserving a team’s culture year after year, regardless of whether the team wins or loses a title.

In the Win Forever program, you’ll learn how to maximize your potential in every area of your life, not just in football. Carroll has been a mentor to executives who have faced difficult situations in the workplace. Through his nonprofit, A Better LA, he has been able to aid disturbed children living on the streets of Los Angeles.

A member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity at the adjacent College of Marin for two years, he transferred to the University of the Pacific, where he played football for two years and “lettered in his second year” before graduating. He was an All-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference free safety for the Tigers in 1971 and 1972 and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1973 after two seasons at Pacific.

Due to his short stature and shoulder difficulties, he was unable to join the World Football League’s Honolulu Hawaiians at their training camp in Riverside. It was his only non-football-related employment, so he took a job selling roofing materials in the Bay Area to make ends meet until he could find something better.

On December 15, 2000, he signed a five-year contract with the Trojans as their next head coach following a difficult 18-day search to replace Paul Hackett. However, USC Athletic Department Director Mike Garrett had originally planned to appoint an experienced collegiate coach with a proven track record of success.

He was compared unfavorably to the leaving coach Hackett, who had not coached in the college ranks since 1983 and had not coached in over a year prior to his arrival.

Dennis Erickson of Oregon State and Mike Bellotti of Oregon were the first two coaches USC tried to hire, but both ended up signing contract extensions with their respective schools. It then turned to San Diego Chargers coach Mike Riley, who had previously served as an assistant coach at USC and later as the head coach of Oregon State.

A lack of commitment from Riley to the Chargers (who were in the middle of an NFL season) and concerns about moving with his family meant that Carroll, the school’s fourth option, had an opportunity to take the job.

Since Jaime was a member of the volleyball team, he was eager to take on the role of a head volleyball coach. Carroll was hired by USC after the first three top contenders rejected the position. Carroll had been courted by USC under Garrett in 1997 when he was the Patriots’ head coach, but he was unable to accept the position.

Garrett was recommended Carroll by USC’s senior deputy athletic director, Daryl Gross, based on his experience as a former New York Jets Scout while Carroll was coaching there, the second time an opportunity came up. Among his reasons for hiring Carroll were his brilliance, drive, and reputation as a defensive expert.

Because of USC’s stagnation under Hackett and Carroll’s record as a head coach in the NFL and nearly two decades away from the college level, many USC supporters openly attacked the selection of Carroll as USC’s new head coach. With two head coach firings in four years for USC’s flagship athletic coaching position, the press tied his future to that of the coach he hired.

USC alumnus Ronnie Lott, Gary Plummer, Tim McDonald, and Willie McGinest praised Carroll’s “player-friendly, relaxed style,” which they said may be ideal for the collegiate game for recruiting purposes. As a result of the outpouring of criticism from alumni and donors, the USC Athletic Department received 2,500 e-mails and faxes, as well as a number of phone calls.

Many renowned critics changed their minds within a year of his appointment. On ESPN.com’s top ten Pac-10 moments list in 2008, the hiring of Carroll was ranked number one. In 2001, several sportswriters began writing off the once-dominant Trojans, who had never finished in the top 10 in the preceding decade, as a dying program as Carroll’s first USC squad opened the season 2–5. It was only in the following 74 games that Carroll’s teams would go on to win two national titles and compete for a third.

One of college football’s most efficient recruiters, he was recognized for bringing in many top-ranked recruiting classes and for persuading high-profile athletes to commit early in their high school careers. In addition to recruiting coordinator and tight ends coach, Brennan Carroll was USC’s head coach during the elder Carroll’s time as head coach.

His ability to communicate with potential players on a personal basis, including becoming the first collegiate coach to have a Facebook profile, and an early adopter of Twitter, has kept him at the forefront of recruiting. He was born in San Francisco, California on September 15, 1951, as Peter Clay Carroll. Pete Carroll’s Trip to Seattle Delayed (2010), 2020 NFL Draft, and Cubed are some of his notable works as an actor (2020). Since May 21, 1976, he has been married to Glena Goranson. They’re the parents of three kids. Wendy Pearl was his first wife.

NFL head coach and executive vice president of football operations for the Seattle Seahawks Pete Carroll is a football coach in the National Football League (NFL). After serving as the team’s head coach/executive vice president of football operations since 2010, he was promoted to executive vice president of football operations in 2012.

He served as head coach of the New York Jets for sixteen seasons during his career. In one season, he guided the Jets to a 6-10-0 record. From 1997 to 1999, he served as head coach of the New England Patriots, leading the team to a 27-21-0 record. The Seattle Seahawks hired him as their third head coach in 2010. They went 115-68-1 under him over the course of twelve seasons. The Seattle Seahawks beat the Denver Broncos 43-8 in the 2013 Super Bowl. Over the course of sixteen seasons, he compiled a record of 148-99-1, including a postseason record of 11-10-0.

Carroll served as an assistant coach for Kay Stephenson, Bud Grant, Jerry Burns, Bruce Coslet, and George Seifert prior to becoming the head coach of the team he currently serves. He worked as a coach for Jerry Burns and Bruce Coslet for four years during this time period. Three of his assistant coaches (Dan Quinn, Gus Bradley, and Robert Saleh) went on to become head coaches elsewhere in the league while he was the head coach. After working as a member of his coaching staff for eleven seasons, his coaching tree has amassed a record of 59-96-0 and 3-2 in the playoffs.

In 1973, Carroll was appointed as a graduate assistant at his alma institution, where he had previously served as an assistant coach. The team’s 7-2-1 record in his first season looked good for his education and introduction to the coaching world. A slow fall occurred after their first year of success, culminating in a 2-9 record at the end of 1976, his final year with the squad before he left. He met Bob Cope during his stint on the coaching staff, and he would follow him for years to come.
