Cullors, Patrisse, or Patrisse Cullors is the name by which the famous American activist most commonly known for her role in establishing the foundations of the Black Lives Matter movement is known. In 2007, she was honored for her work in the community by being named the Mario Savio Young Activist of the Year. Additionally, in 2016, she was honored with Glamour’s Woman of the Year award.

The Advocate recognized her as one of the top nine candidates for its 2015 Person of the Year award. After she received her award, she was recognized as one of the “New Civil Rights Leaders” by the Los Angeles Times. Time magazine has named her one of the 100 people who will have the greatest impact on the world by 2020. The BBC has included her on their list of the world’s 100 most influential women in 2020.
