The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes are one of the most successful sports franchises in Oregon’s history.. Over a 17-year period, the Volcanoes won seven divisional championships, five Northwest League championships, and saw 112 players from the Northwest League make their way to the big leagues, including Buster Posey and Tim Lincecum as well as Buster Posey’s younger brother, Pablo Sandoval.
The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, like the Salem Senators, were transplanted from Bellingham, Washington to Salem.
