Beabadoobee is a singer and songwriter who combines beautifully whispered confessions with guitars that pack a punch and are influenced by the 1990s. Her intimate, lo-fi sound reflected her love of indie songwriters such as Elliott Smith and Kimba Dawson and fit in perfectly with bedroom pop contemporaries such as Clairol when she first emerged in 2017 with “Coffee,” the first song she ever wrote. “Coffee” was also the first song she ever performed.

By the year 2019, she had, however, broken beyond from the restrictions of the bedroom with releases such as 2019’s Space Cadet EP, a tribute to the musical styles of Sonic Youth and Pavement that includes the single “I Wanna Be Stephen Mallkus.” Beabadoobee added more polish and ambition to her style on both her debut album, Fake It Flowers, which was released in 2020, and her Our Extended Play EP, which was released the following year. Despite turning up the volume, Beabadoobee maintained the music’s frank yet vulnerable viewpoint throughout both releases.

Bea Kristi was born in the year 2000 in the city of Iloilo in the Philippines. When she was three years old, her family relocated to the Camden district in London. She studied the violin for many years as a child and listened to Filipino music in addition to the music of popular singers from the 1990s, such as the Cranberries, Liz Pair, and Natalie Imbruglia, who were her mother’s favourite. She had the sense that she did not belong when she was a teenager.

She was the only Filipino student in an all-girl Catholic school (where she was first exposed to the music of Kimba Dawson, a significant influence on her sound), and she suffered with depression. Kimba Dawson’s music had an important impact on her style. When she was 17, her father surprised her by giving her a used guitar, and she began playing it as a way to express her inner turmoil.

She taught herself to play using online tutorials and took the stage name Beabadoobee from an old social media account. She developed a delicate and intimate style that was influenced by the music of Dawson as well as Alex G, Florist, and Karen O. She taught herself to play using online tutorials.

In September of 2017, Beabadoobee went to the bedroom of a friend and recorded the first song she ever penned, which was titled “Coffee.” She then posted it online. The song quickly racked up hundreds of thousands of views despite the fact that her intention was to just share it with her close circle of friends. ”

The success that Coffee had on the internet aroused the eye of the Dirty Hit record company in London, and they signed Beabadoobee at the beginning of 2018. She released a pair of extended plays on the label during that year: March’s Lice and December’s Patched Up. Both of these EPs expanded on her viral single’s gently candid style, and both were titled Lice and Patched Up.

However, she desired for her music to have a larger sound, so she went out and found a bassist named Eliana Sewell, a drummer named Louis Simolean-Faith, and a guitarist named Jacob Bugden to help her achieve this. Beabadoobee released the Lovelorn EP in April 2019, which featured a heavier grunge- and shoegaze-inspired attack to her melodies; an acoustic version of the song, titled “Lovelorn (Bedroom Sessions),” was released in July. The EP was produced by Pete Robertson, who had previously worked as a drummer for the Vaccines.

That October’s Space Cadet EP was an even more audacious tribute to the alternative rock and indie music of the 1990s, and it once again included production by Robertson. Beabadoobee brought the year to a conclusion by releasing a rendition of Simple Minds’ song “Don’t You Forget About Me,” as well as receiving nominations for the Rising Star Award at the 2020 Brit Awards and the Sound of 2020 critics’ poll hosted by the BBC.

The popularity of Beabadoobee carried over into the year 2020. The Canadian rapper Powfu’s track “Death Bed (Coffee for Your Head),” which sampled “Coffee,” became a viral smash with billions of plays after it was featured in a social media meme. Powfu also went on tour in February to support labelmates 1975. The song reached number five on the charts in a number of countries and was certified gold or platinum in a number of additional countries, including the United Kingdom and the United States.

In October of the same year, Beabadoobee released her first studio album, titled Fake It Flowers. It built on the alternative rock-meets-pop vibe of Space Cadet and was produced and engineered by Joseph Rodgers. Robertson was the album’s executive producer. She made her comeback with the release of the Our Extended Play EP in May of 2021.

Beabadoobee, Matti Healy of the 1975, and George Daniel of the 1975 collaborated with Beabadoobee on the writing and production of the EP, which features the COVID-19 pandemic-inspired tune “Last Day on Earth.” In March of 2022, she released “Talk,” which was the first single off her second album titled “Netopia.”

The song “Coffee” was the first song that Beabadoobee ever composed on her guitar. In September of 2017, she released both the original version of the song as well as a cover of Karen O’s “The Moon Song.” The song “Coffee” has garnered the attention of Dirty Hit Records and has received more than 300,000 views on YouTube. In April of 2018, she became a member of the label. After this, in March 2018, she released her first extended play (EP) titled “Lice,” and in December 2018, she released her second extended play titled “Patched Up.”

Alongside Billie Eilis, Beabadoobee was included on the NME’s annual list of “important new artists,” referred to as the “NME 100,” in the month of January 2019. After that, she issued her third extended play, which was named Lovelorn. Later on, in the month of July 2019,

Beabadoobee disseminated an acoustic extended play of this EP and dubbed it Lovelorn (Bedroom Sessions). Beabadoobee made her maiden tour appearance in September 2019, opening for Clairol on her Immunity Tour. She then went on to release her fourth extended play (EP), titled Space Cadet, in October 2019.

The following month, on October 25, 2019, Beabadoobee was featured on the front cover of NME. At the Brit Awards ceremony that took place in December 2019, she was one of the finalists for the Rising Star Award. Beabadoobee released two new singles on Spotify in the month of November 2019. One of the singles was a rendition of Simple Minds’ “Don’t You Forget About Me,” and the other was a version of “She Plays Bass” that was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London. Beabadoobee was selected for the longlist of the annual BBC poll of music critics, Sound of 2020, in the month of December 2019.

After being announced as the winner of the Radar Award in February 2020, Beabadoobee had a performance at the NME Awards. She provided support for her labelmates The 1975 for both legs of their Music for Cars Tour in the United Kingdom in February of 2020. The COVID-19 epidemic caused the band’s North American portion of this tour, which was supposed to begin in April 2020, to be postponed. She was supposed to support the band during this part of the tour.

Beabadoobee “Coffee,” which was released as the artist’s first song in 2017, was sampled for usage in Canadian rapper Powfu’s track “Death Bed (Coffee for Your Head),” which was released in 2019. The song became Beabadoobee first official chart entry in her career when it went viral on the app TikTok in early 2020. The song went on to become a phenomenally popular sleeper hit, and it was Beabadoobee first chart entry anywhere in the world.

By April of the following year, it had already broken into the top five in a number of nations, including the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. It achieved the rank of gold certification in Belgium, Canada, France, Mexico, and New Zealand, as well as Platinum or a higher level in the United States of America and the United Kingdom, amongst other nations. When asked about her response to the rise in use of the term “death bed,” she said.

According to Beabadoobee, “I’m not going to lie, it was overwhelming…” I didn’t like it very much at all. It bothered me that more people knew about the first song I’d ever written, rather than the other songs I’d written. I used to be so obstinate, but eventually I came to terms with the fact that that’s simply the way life is. I have a lot of appreciation for the fact that it was created since it has provided me with even more options.

Beabadoobee has revealed that her first full-length studio album will be titled Fake It Flowers, and she will release the album’s first song “Care” on July 14, 2020. She announced the album’s track listing, cover art, and official release date as well as the release of the second single from the album, titled “Sorry,” in the beginning of August 2020. Following the release of “Worth It” as the album’s third single, Beabadoobee followed it up with “How Was Your Day?” as the album’s fourth single, and “Together” as the album’s fifth and final single.

The album was released on October 16, 2020 to widespread praise, and it made its debut at number 8 on the UK Albums Chart. In addition, it reached its peak in the United States of America, Australia, Ireland, Japan, and Scotland. In 1975, Matti Healy and George Daniel were responsible for producing and co-writing the song “Last Day On Earth,” which Beabadoobee released as her new single on March 24 in the United States. The song was co-written by Matti Healy.

The musician has stated that the song will be included on her next EP titled Our Extended Play, which she claims to have written “on the countryside” with her other labelmates. “I wanted to play on the sounds and sonics even more, and the EP to me has a sense of oneness to it… how we’re all in this linked as one,” said the artist. “I wanted to experiment on the sounds and sonics.” The title of her upcoming second album, “Netopia,” was revealed on March 23, 2022. It is going to be distributed by Dirty Hit and is slated for release on July 15th, 2022.

Beabadoobee has named Elliott Smith, The Moldy Peaches, Pavement, Mazy Star, The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, and Daniel Johnston as some of the musicians that have had an impact on her musical style. She has said to Vice that she intends to compose film soundtracks in the future since movies had a significant role in her decision to become a musician. Regarding her history and how she has used YouTube to build her career, she has said:

Beabadoobee has garnered praise and adoration from a number of well-known musicians, including Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Khalid, Jaden Smith, and Matty Healy of 1975. Anyone who listens to the album will immediately notice the ’90s influence, which can be described as a sound that falls in between bubblegum pop and garage band sounds from that decade. Beabadoobee, who was born in the year 2000, encountered the genre via her own musical education; one that was anchored in records by Alanis Morrissette, Alanis Morrissette, and Lana Del Rey. It’s an aesthetic that some may find to be reminiscent of a bygone era.

The Cranberries and Smashing Pumpkins are the bands in question. She does a fantastic job at recreating the style, and if you just give her music video for the track “Care” a cursory look, you may be fooled into believing it’s an old film. Beabadoobee has been keeping herself busy by dancing (which she describes as “the only kind of exercise I do”), writing in her notebook, and viewing movies, not just for the tales, but also for the music. The album’s tour dates have, of course, been postponed. “Good Will Hunting and The Matrix Reloaded have both had my all-time favourite soundtracks.”

which Elliott Smith did, and “But I’m a Cheerleader”—amazing songs by women, ” she raves about the music. In addition to that, she has been creating art and adorning the walls of her bedroom with watercolor paintings and movie posters that she has obtained on the internet.

She believes that it was enjoyable to have the opportunity to “just sit in my room, chill out, and, you know, casually write—not write for anything particular just yet.” Beabadoobee accomplishes precisely that for us, just in time for the release of her newest song. You may see an example of one of the things that she has been working on recently up there.

BEABADOOBEE is a well-known musician as well as a music producer. She is most well-known for her singles “Coffee” and “Susie May,” as well as for her EP named “Lice,” which has four songs. Bea Kristi is her birth name, and she was born on June 3, 2000 in Manila, Philippines. Her true name is Bea. She didn’t start playing the guitar until she was 17 years old. On her Instagram account, which she uses to share her movies and images, you may find both. On her channel on YouTube, which she maintains, she has uploaded all of the videos that she has created.
