Jeffrey Nero Hardy is an American professional wrestler, artist, and singer who was born on August 31, 1977. He is presently signed to WWE’s Raw brand, where he performs.

Hardy is well remembered for his several appearances with WWE. He has previously competed for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), Ring of Honor (ROH), and a number of indie companies. Hardy and his real-life brother Matt ran and performed for the Organization of Modern Extreme Grappling Arts before becoming famous in the WWE (OMEGA). The Hardy Boyz began working for the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) as enhancement talent in 1994 and were signed to full-time contracts in 1998. They rose to prominence in the tag team division, thanks in part to their involvement in Tables, Ladders, and Chairs matches. With the inclusion of Lita, the team was dubbed Team Xtreme, and its popularity soared. Between WWE, TNA, ROH, and other promotions, he and Matt have won twenty-one world tag team championships.

Hardy has had success as a singles wrestler, winning the WWE Championship in 2008 and going on to hold the WWE World Heavyweight Championship twice as well as the TNA World Heavyweight Championship three times. He also has five WWE Intercontinental Championships, three WWE Hardcore Championships, and one each of the WWE European, Light Heavyweight, and United States Championships. In WWE history, he is the 18th Triple Crown Champion and the 9th Grand Slam Champion (one of five men to complete both WWE Grand Slam formats, and one of two to win all original Grand Slam titles). Hardy has held 29 championships in total between WWE, Impact, and ROH.

Hardy formed his own federation, the Trampoline Wrestling Federation (TWF), with his brother Matt and pals, and imitated the movements they saw on television. Later, the TWF proceeded by numerous various titles before being absorbed into a North Carolina county fair. The brothers and their pals went on to work for other small businesses. They worked for companies like ACW and other minor enterprises all across the East Coast of the United States.

Jeff and Matt started their own wrestling promotion, the Organization of Modern Extreme Grappling Arts (OMEGA), alongside Thomas Simpson before joining the WWF. The show included the Hardy brothers, Shannon Moore, Gregory Helms, Joey Matthews, and Steve Corino, among others, and was a more successful version of the original TWF. Each of the brothers played multiple characters in OMEGA; Hardy played Willow the Wisp, Iceman, Mean Jimmy Jack Tomkins, and The Masked Mountain, among others. Hardy won the New Frontier Championship (NFC) as a singles wrestler and the Tag Team Championship with Matt while he was there. When they signed contracts with the WWF in April 1998, the promotion came to an end.

Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior, Sting, and Shawn Michaels were among Hardy’s early wrestling idols. He began his career as a jobber, a wrestler who constantly loses to make his opponents appear stronger on World Wrestling Federation (WWF) television. “Welcome to the big time,” Randy Savage said on commentary after his first WWF bout against Razor Ramon on May 23, 1994 in Youngstown, Ohio. Keith Davis, his ringname that night, was the name of Razor’s scheduled jobber who had to cancel on short notice. Hardy was suggested to agent Tony Garea by Gary Sabaugh, who had brought him in with Davis in a group. Garea accepted when Hardy stated he was 18 years old (he was in fact, only 16). The next day, he battled against The 1–2–3 Kid under his true name, and the bout aired on the June 25 broadcast of Superstars. He worked as a jobber as late as 1997 (including a bout against Rob Van Dam during the ECW “invasion” storyline, in which Hardy was labelled as being from Virginia rather than Cameron, North Carolina), before launching his first major run in 1998.

Ethan Carter III denied Hardy an opportunity at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, instead bringing up Shynron to face Hardy, who won the match. Hardy made his return on the January 12, 2016 broadcast of Impact Wrestling. Hardy issued a challenge to the villainous Matt Hardy for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship on the January 26 episode of Impact Wrestling, but as the match was about to begin, he was ambushed by Eric Young and Bram. Hardy made his return on the March 15 episode of Impact Wrestling, defeating Eric Young in a match to determine the third challenger for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, which Jeff lost to Matt Hardy and Ethan Carter III. Matt began a feud with Jeff after losing the title, and he demanded an I Quit match against him. The bout ended in a no-contest on the April 19 broadcast of Impact Wrestling after neither man could continue.

Hardy has starred in many WWE DVDs as part of the Hardy Boyz, including The Hardy Boyz: Leap of Faith (2001) and The Ladder Match (2001). (2007).
