Nick Saban, born to the University of Alabama in 2007, is an American football coach. He is often hailed as one of the biggest college soccer coaches. Nick Saban is one of the best trainers in the history of university football. He coached teams who won championships in a row following championships. Nick Saban Jr. was born to Nick Saban, Mary Saban, on October 31, 1951. He has Dianna Saban’s sister. Both grew up in the little town of Monongah, West Virginia, and went to high school in Monpgah.

He married his girlfriend Terry Constable on December 18, 1971, when he was 20 years old. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business from Kent State University and, in 1973, a Master’s degree in Sports Administration from Kent State University again.

At first, Saban didn’t plan to be a coach, but Don James, a football team coach, hired him as a postgraduate assistant. He agreed because he waited for a graduate of his wife. After serving as Don James’ graduate assistant, Nick became an NCAA Division I-A assistant coach. In several schools such as Syracuse, West Virginia, Ohio State, Navy, and Michigan State, he was an assistant coach. Nick Saban became the Assistant Coach of the National Football League franchise, Houston Oilers, after the 1987 season.

On 22 December 1989, the University of Toledo hired Saban as head coach. Under the training of Nick Saban, Rockets (Toledo Football Team University) found quick success. The Rockets became champion of the Mid-American Conference with a season of 9-2 in 1990. The only two games the Rockets lost were by a small margin.

After Saban resigned as Toledo’s head coach, Bill Belichick joined him as defensive coordinator of Cleveland Browns. Saban continued in four seasons before moving to the State of Michigan.

From the 1995 season, Nick Saban coached the team at Michigan State University. They had won no season after 1990, so Saban had a great deal of hope in improving this drought. The NCAA also sanctioned the team for breaches while recruiting George Perles, its former coach.

After Saban, Spartans immediately saw an improvement in their games as each of his first three seasons he took them in the bowl games.

In 1998, the Spartans squashed the No.1 Ohio State Buckeyes at Ohio Stadium, ranked 28-24. Even after a great match in Notre Dame at the beginning of the season, the Spartans finished 6–6. This was mostly due to last-minute losses, defensive delays, and display of special terms, and could not get an invitation.

For the Michigan State Spartans, the 1999 season was good. The season was played at 9-2, which consisted of victories against teams such as Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State. The two losses they faced were against Wisconsin and Perdue.

Saban suddenly resigned from the Michigan team in the same season, accepting the offer for head coach of Lousiana State University. LSU named Nick Saban as its 31st head coach in November 1999. For the Tigers, the 2000 season was somewhat average. They won and lost a general number of games, including the loss of the Auburn Tigers and the Florida Gaters.

Nick Saban led the Tigers in 2001 with a record of 10 – 3. They won an SEC and a Sugar Bowl championship. They lost at the Mississippi University, but apart from that, the Tigers won six straight wins, including the 2002 Sugar Bowl victory over Tennessee No 2, Illinois. After 1986, it was the first SEC Tigers championship and the first Sugar Bowl since 1968. The Tigers failed to reach the benchmark several times despite high expectations for the 2002 season. In the middle of the season, they rebounded but harmed their star quarterback Matt Mauck. The Tigers lost four of the last six matches that kicked them out of the SEC.

The 2003 season began in a better light. The Tigers won the first five matches and won the defending SEC Champion and the Georgia Bulldogs. The Tigers continued to win the SEC West by losing only Florida.

The Georgian Bulldogs were again defeated in the Sugar Bowl by the Tigers lead by Saban……. and they continued playing #1 Oklahoma Sooners, which also hosted the BCS Championship Game. The Tigers won both the game and the title. Saban’s first season was a whirlwind for the Dolphins. They started fantastically but lost matches after matches before winning the streak again. In the first season, the Dolphins missed playoffs with a narrow margin under the coaching of Saban.

The Dolphins were expected to make it to the playoffs in the 2006 season but played a disappointing game this season. They bought a wounded player and lost a few games, but came back and gained four games and got it into the Superbowl. This was Saban’s first losing season as head coach.

Rumors that Nich Saban is going to be University of Alabama’s head coach started circulating in the world of football. While Saban refused to talk about it again and again, he confirmed later that he would not join the Alabama University in 2006.

In January 2007, Nick Saban met with the officials of the University of Alabama. This came after the Miami Dolphins’ seasonal loss. The Tide (Alabama University) has seen significant changes in its performance. The team finished the season without a loss for the first time in Saban’s coaching career. Nick Saban appeared in Forbes’ 2008 edition as “The most powerful coach in sports” on the front cover of Forbes magazine.

Under Saban, Crimson Tide went on a winning streak. They were the number one team and won against strong competitors like Clemson Tigers, Arkansas, Georgia Bulldogs, Kentucky Wildcats, Ole Miss Rebels, etc.

After 1999, the Crimson Tide secured its first SEC Western Division championships and fixed its name in SEC 2008. Their regular season ended with a win over the state rival Auburn. Saban was an assistant soccer coach with NCAA Division I-A in Kent State, Syracuse, West Virginia, Ohio State, U.S. Naval Academy, and Michigan State. In 1988, he made the crossover in the NFL, Houston Oilers’ assistant coaching.

After one year as a university head coach at the University of Toledo, Nick went to the NFL again as Cleveland Brown’s defensive coordinator. Saban would not be coaching a professional team for the last time.
From 2000 to 2004, Saban coached at LSU. He received a 2001 and 2003 SEC Championship during his coaching LSU; accompanied by the ’03 NCAA Collie Football Championship. In the same year, Saban also won the Paul ‘Bear’ Bryant Award, which is presented annually to College Soccer Coach.

Coach Saban decided to try his hand in the NFL again at the end of the 2004 season. He accepted the job of the Miami Dolphin Head Coach. The team started the season with a deceptive record of 3-7. They brought it together at the last 6 games, which they won in a row to finish the season at 9-7. Nevertheless, playoffs were not in the cards that year.

In 2006, it was, even more, a letdown. The Dolphins finished their season 6-9 and led Nick Saban to his first record loss as head coach. Saban rescued and went to Bama.

Nick Saban was hailed by most Crimson Tide fans as the savior of Alabama football. We’re going to see. The SEC is so hard. Saban had already faced criticism after accepting the head coaching job at the University of Alabama in January 2007.

Most notably is Saban’s criticism of limiting the access of his players and coaching staff to the media. Coach Saban started alternating with the players for media questions on those days.

While this policy has not made him friends in the media, Nick speculates that once he builds his confidence for the media covering his team.

Nick Saban had a hard first year in Alabama (2007). The Tide began strongly and faded, losing to Miss. State and even Louisiana-Monroe. But in 2008, they won their bowl game and reached the top recruiting class in the Nations. In 1995, Nick Saban accepted a position as Head Coach of the Spartans at Michigan State University. Five straight losing seasons were coming off MSU. Coach Saban took the team and led them to a 9-2 season in 1999. However, Saban resigned from the state of Michigan after accepting his next post as coach of Louisiana State University.

Such things seem to occur every day, and they do. The resignation however came weeks before the team played the Florida Gators in the Citrus Bowl. This left Bobby Williams (who would succeed Saban’s assistant head coach) to guide the bowl game. MSU defeated Florida, which made the 1999 season a 10-2 record.

There’s a story about Saban saying that his MSU assistants had 24 hours to board an aircraft for Louisiana if they want to join him (or something like that). Nobody supposedly joined him. Not sure the truthfulness of everything, but certainly the way he left MSU left a poor mouth taste.
