Omar Apollo is the stage name of Mexican-American singer-songwriter Omar Apolonio Velasco, who was born on May 20, 1997, in Hobart, Indiana. Velasco is a dual citizen of the United States and Mexico. After acquiring some experience with composing music on Logic Pro, Velasco decided to educate himself on how to sing in order to further his career prospects. He would show his pupils excerpts from several reference recordings while they were in the history lesson.
