On November 11, 1968, Roland Sebastian Martin entered the world in Houston, Texas’s Third Ward, the city’s historically black neighborhood. Grandfather Roland Sebastian Martin, Sr., was the inspiration for grandson Roland Sebastian Martin’s name. Growing up, Roland looked up to his parents more than anyone else.
