Tyler Perry Phone NumberTyler Perry is an American actor, director, producer, and screenwriter who was born on September 13, 1969. Perry developed the Madea persona, a strong elderly woman, and plays her. Perry’s films range in style from traditional filmmaking techniques to filmed stage presentations. Many of Tyler Perry’s stage plays have been converted into feature pictures.

During the 1990s and early 2000s, Perry authored and produced a number of theatre plays. Perry has created a number of television shows, the most famous of which was Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, which aired on TBS for eight seasons from June 21, 2006 to August 10, 2012. On October 2, 2012, Perry and Oprah Winfrey’s Oprah Winfrey Network announced an exclusive multi-year relationship. Based on Perry’s previous success in this area, the relationship was primarily for the purpose of bringing written television to OWN. Perry has created several scripted series for the network, the most successful of which is The Haves and the Have Nots. As of 2014, The Haves and the Have Nots has earned OWN its highest ratings to date, with the series being dubbed “one of OWN’s biggest success stories with its weekly dose of soapy fun, packed with the usual betrayals, affairs, and manipulations.”

Perry has also appeared in films that he did not direct, write, or produce, such as Admiral Barnett in Star Trek (2009), the titular character in Alex Cross (2012), Tanner Bolt in Gone Girl (2014), Baxter Stockman in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016), Colin Powell in Vice (2018), Arthur in Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021), and Gus The Truck Driver in PAW Patrol: The Adventures of Gus The Truck Driver in PAW Patrol: The (2021).

Perry moved to Atlanta in 1990, and two years later, I Know I’ve Been Changed was performed for the first time at a community theatre, with the 22-year-old Perry’s $12,000 life savings. The drama addressed subjects such as child abuse and broken families while including Christian concepts of forgiveness, dignity, and self-worth. The musical was a financial disaster and garnered a “less than fantastic” response at first. Perry persisted, and over the next six years, he revised the musical several times, despite the negative reviews. He retooled the play and restaged it in Atlanta, first at the House of Blues, then at the Fox Theatre, in 1998, at the age of 28. Perry proceeded to create new stage performances, touring with them on the “Chitlin’ Circuit” and gaining a loyal following among African-American audiences. Forbes stated in 2005 that he had sold “more than $100 million in tickets, $30 million in performance videos, and an estimated $20 million in merchandising,” and that “the 300 live concerts he organizes each year average 35,000 people per week.”

Perry raised a US$5.5 million budget for his first film, Diary of a Mad Black Woman, with the help of ticket sales from his stage plays. The film went on to gross US$50.6 million domestically and had a 16 percent approval rating on the film review website Rotten Tomatoes. Perry made his directorial debut with his next picture, a remake of Madea’s Family Reunion, and has gone on to helm all of the Madea films thereafter. Madea’s Family Reunion debuted at number one at the box office with $30.3 million on its opening weekend, February 24–26, 2006. The picture made a total of $65 million at the box office. On The Oprah Winfrey Show, Perry and his co-stars promoted the film. Almost all of Madea’s earnings, like Diary’s, have come from the United States.

Perry is a devout follower of Jesus Christ. Janet Jackson, Will Smith, and Oprah Winfrey are among his close friends. Many of the themes in his work reflect theology and social behavior typical of predominantly black church cultures, such as the numerous scenes in both his stage and screen work that feature church settings and worship styles typical of predominantly African American churches, including gospel music and artist showcases.
