The singer-songwriter struggled to be one of the most popular hard rock stars of his time through several childhood problems. During school, he suffered dyslexia and did not even finish his studies because he earned money in family circumstances. He formed his first Rare Breed musical band with Geezer Butler but after only two performances the band broke down.

The duo decided to retrieve the guitarist Tony Iommi and drummer Bill Ward and formed a band called Earth. Finally, they renamed the band Black Sabbath and decided to use melancholy lyrics and music to follow the style of heavy blues music. With their debut album ‘Black Sabbath,’ which was number eight on the U.K. chart, the band became an instant success. The albums, ‘Paranoid’ and ‘Master of Reality,’ were released quickly and both smashed out with the fans – ‘Master of Reality was Double Platinum. Although an extremely successful musical artist, Osbourne has spent most of his life abusing drugs and alcohol.

Ozzy was born as one of Jack Osbourne’s six kids, the toolmaker, and Lilian working at a car parts company. The family lived a modest life in the middle class. As a child, he has handled a number of learning disabilities such as dyslexia and a lack of attention. At the age of 15, he received little formal education and left school to find work. He has done a number of great jobs, such as a worker, plumber, and toolmaker.

When he burgled a clothes store and spent six weeks in Winson Green Prison, he had a brush with the law as a teenager. In 1967, Osbourne teamed his first band Rare Breed with Geezer Butler.

Osbourne and Butler worked on another band, Earth, together with guitarist Tony Iommi and drummer Bill Ward. In August 1969, they renamed the band black Sabbath and chose to play heavy blues with the underlying occult subjects. In February 1970, the band released their debut album, ‘Black Sabbath.’ The album was negated by music critics but became an enormous commercial success.

Promoted by the success of its debut, in September 1970, the band released their second album ‘Paranoid.’ Many of the album’s tracks, including “Iron Man” and “Paranoid,” became the band’s signature tracks. The band’s third album, ‘Master of Reality,’ was released in 1971 and was ranked in the top 10 in both the U.S. and UK. The group had included acoustic songs on their album for the first time.

In 1972 the album ‘Black Sabbath Vol. 4’ was released in which heavy sound experimented. In this album, which was well-received by listeners, the band attempted a new, more sensitive approach to music. The band added more musical instruments to their orchestra on their fifth album ‘Sabbath Bloody Sabbath’ in 1973. This album not only sold enormous volumes but also received favorable critical reviews.

‘Sabotage’ (1975), ‘Technical Ecstasy’ (1976), and ‘Never Say Die’ was released over the next few years (1978). At that time Osbourne had serious drug problems and was expelled from the band in 1979.

In 1981 he started his solo career with his debut album, ‘Blizzard of Ozz.’ The album was a commercial success and multi-platinum in the United States. He released his second album, ‘Diary of a Madman’ that year.

His album ‘Bark at the Moon’ was released in 1983 and was the first album to write all the tracks himself. The album was Gold certified in the United States. His albums ‘The Ultimate Sin’ and ‘No Rest for the Wicked’ were published respectively in 1986 and 1988. During the 1990s, only two studio albums were released – “No More Tears” (1991) and “Ozmossis” (1995). With his fans, both became very popular.

He began with his wife in the mid-1990s with ‘Ozzfest,’ an annual festival tour featuring different bands playing various kinds of music such as heavy metal, alternative metal, hardcore punk, and Gothic metal.

Together with his wife and children, he appeared in ‘The Osbournes’ a reality show that first appeared on MTV in 2002. In March 2005, the last episode of the show was broadcast.

He planned to retire in the 1990s, but later he had a heart change. He still plays music and his latest works include “Black Rain” (2007) and “Scream” (2010). The second album of his band, ‘Paranoid’ (1970), defined the music of the band. The album has been called by modern music critic ‘one of the biggest and most influential heavy metal albums of all time.’

His solo album, ‘No More Tears’ (1991) included the winning track ‘I Don’t Want to Change the World’ of the Grammy Award. It was also one of his best-selling albums certified by the Recording Industry Association of America with multi-platinum (RIAA).

One of his greatest professional achievements is the annual ‘Ozzfest’ festival tour that includes performances by a range of musical bands representing various kinds of heavy metal and hard rock music.

In a reality show, ‘The Osbournes,’ which premiered on MTV in 2002, Osbourne and his family starred. The program became MTV’s first season’s most popular show and lasted until March 2005. He won the ‘I don’t want to change the world’ Grammy Award for the best metal performance in 1994.

He has been introduced to the United Kingdom Music Hall of Fame both as a member and solo artist of the band Black Sabbath in 2005.In 2006, he and his former bandmates were brought into the U.S. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Black Sabbath.

He married Thelma Riley first and adopted her son, Elliot Kingsley, with two biological children. The marriage broke out because of his problems with drugs and alcohol.

For the second time, he tied the bridal knot with Sharon Arden in 1982. The couple’s got three kids. Ozzy Osbourne (born 3 December 1948, Birmingham, England) by-named John Michael Osbourne; a British musician, who was loyal to the heavy metal band Black Sabbath before embarking on a successful solo work.

Raised in an employee family, at the age of fifteen Osbourne abandoned school and held several low-paid jobs. He also committed a small crime and was jailed for burglary for two months at 17. After his release, he sang in several local rock bands and formed the Earth rock band with the guitarist Tony Iommi. The band changed its name to Black Sabbath to avoid confusion with another band of the same name — following an early film by Boris Karloff. The group developed a sloppy, ominous sound based on the blues but intensely amplified and drew attention to the occult in its lyrics. Black Sabbath released its first eponymous album in February 1970 and quickly developed a succession in the United States and Britain.

The band released albums every year, except in 1974, through the mid-1970s. Osbourne left the band after the tour of Never Say Die (1978). Osbourne’s first wife, Thelma Mayfair, was divorced from a period of despair and drug abuse. He met Sharon Arden and married him, who encouraged him to start a solo career. Blizzard of Ozz made his first attempt, mainly with the help of guitarist Randy Rhoads (1980). A multiplatinum achievement was followed by the famous Diary of a Madman (1981), which sold over five million copies, thanks to the standout single “Crazy Train.” A defining point in Osbourne’s career was the time of his album tour, when Osbourne was off the head of a live bat, thinking that somebody had thrown him a rubber toy in the audience.

Osbourne found the first solo Top 40 hit on the “Mama, I’m Coming Home” album No More Tears (1991), and in 1993, for the song “I Don’t Will Change the World,” he was awarded the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance. Although he announced his retirement in 1992, he kept recording throughout the decade. The annual Summer Music Festival Ozzfest began in 1996 and toured the United States and, over a number of years, parts of Europe, featuring heavy metal acts organized by Osbourne and his wife. In the late 1990s, Osbourne brought together the original Black Sabbath members for a new album and tour, and the band won a Grammy for “Iron Man” in 1999. In 2013 Osbourne recorded his first Black Sabbath studio, 13, after 35 years of absence.

In 2001, the reality shows The Osbournes, which focused on the lives of Osbourne and his family, premiered on MTV and became the third highest-rate cable television service in two months. The popular show lasted until 2005. In The Osbournes Want to Believe (2020–) and The Osbournes: Night of Terror (2020), the family later starred in the reality series, both focusing on paranormal investigations. Osbourne and the members of Black Sabbath were brought into the Hall of Fame in March 2006. In 2007, Black Rain released the first solo studio album in six years. Scream (2010) and Ordinary Man followed him (2020).

Osborne sometimes took part in films like Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002) and the 2016 remake by Ghostbusters, playing himself or a comparable rock star. He also lent his voice to Gnomeo & Juliet (2011), the animated feature, and to its sequel, Sherlock Gnomes (2018). (2020).
