British humor poet Pam Ayres MBE was born on March 14, 1947. She was born Pam Ayres in the town of Stanford in the Vale, in the county of Berkshire in England (now Oxfordshire). She started working for the government at the age of fifteen after dropping out of Farringdon Secondary School to become a secretary there. She quickly departed to join the Women’s Royal Air Force, where she decided she wanted to be a performer.
