The British musician and former member of the legendary music band ‘The Beatles’ is Paul McCartney. A two-time winner in the Rock and Roll Hall (who was a member of The Beatles in 1988 and a solo artist in 1999), and one of the most successful composers and performers of all time, he is also a multi-prime grammar prize winner. With his unprecedented success as a musician, he has become legendary and is one of the icons of English music of the 20th century.

He loved young music and his father, who was a trumpeter, influenced him. As a teenager, he began to write songs and began playing guitar. He met John Lennon as a young man at a church festival and Paul was invited to join Lennon who played with a band. Soon there also joined the band other aspiring musicians and ‘The Beatles’ was born. The Beatles became phenomenal fame in the next few years and all the members of the group, including Paul McCartney, became world-famous. At the time The Beatles broke up and started a successful solo career he was already an influential figure. He is also well known for his philanthropic activities and social activism alongside all his musical achievements.

He was born on 18 June 1942 in Liverpool, England, as James Paul McCartney. His mother, Mary Patricia, was a sister-in-law while his father, James McCartney was a local band cotton salesman and jazz pianist. He’s got a younger brother. He attended primary school in Stockton Wood Road where he met with George Harrison. Paul McCartney’s mother was just 14 years old when he died of breast cancer. His mother’s loss shattered the young boy.

He met John Lennon as a teenager at a church festival. Because John also lost his mother in his early years, the two boys quickly joined together and became friends. John had a group called the “Quarrymen,” and Paul was invited to join the group. The band has adopted the name ‘The Beatles’ over the next few years. There were also numerous changes in the staff and, by 1962, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr were his members.

The first single of the band, “Love Me Do” written mainly by Paul McCartney and Lennon came out in 1962. The single was a success and the Beatles became very popular.

In 1965, the group released their album ‘Help!’ that spawned Paul McCartney’s hit single ‘Yesterday.’ With more than 2,200 cover versions, the song became one of the most covered songs in the history of recorded music.

The band’s concept album ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,’ which was released in 1976, was immediately successful by Paul McCartney. It performed well in business and was also highly applauded. It has been at the top of the album chart for 27 weeks in the UK and won four Grammy Awards in 1968.

Even if the band achieved great popularity and widespread success, the band’s relationships became strained and disagreements began frequently. So in 1970, Paul McCartney left the band.

In 1971 he formed the rock band ‘Paul McCartney and Wings,’ together with his wife Linda McCartney, drummer Denny Seiwell and former Moody Blues guitar player Denny Laine.

In the next 10 years, Paul McCartney and Wings released a number of albums including ‘Red Rose Speedway (1973), ‘Band on the Run’ (1973), ‘Venus & Mars’ (1975), ‘Wings at the Sound Speed’ (1976) and ‘Back to the Egg’ (1979). In 1981 the group dissolved following discrepancies over royalties and wages.

Paul McCartney experienced a difficult time in the 1980s. He became a drug addict and was arrested and fined for marijuana. In the same decade his former partner, John Lennon, was also murdered and profoundly disturbed. Although he continued to create music, during this period he could not achieve much success.

In the 1990s he worked with the rock band ‘Killing Joke’ Martin Glover – known as Youth – who formed the band ‘The Fireman.’ The album ‘Strawberries Oceans Ships Forest’ was released in 1993. The same year, the rock album ‘Off the Ground’ was released by McCartney. He took a break from his solo career to work on “The Beatles Anthology,” a documentary TV series, a double-album three-volume set, and a book on The Beatles history. All three Beatles who survived, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, took part in the production.

Although he was now in his sixties, he continued to tour, perform and record new albums well in the new millennium. He released albums such as ‘Ecce Cor Meum’ (2006), ‘Memory Almost Full’ (2007), and ‘Electric Arguments’ (2008). In 1970, his debut studio album, ‘McCartney,’ was released at #1 on US Billboard 200 and was there for 3 weeks; it reached #2 in Great Britain.

Paul McCartney and Wings’ Band on the Run album became the top-selling 1974 studio album in the UK and Australia. Finally, it was certified by the Recording Industry Association of America as triple platinum and remains its most successful record until now. Paul McCartney is a 21-time Grammy Award winner, 12 of them as ‘The Beatles’ member and 6 of them as a solo artist.

He was twice brought to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: 1988 class as a member of the Beatles and 1999 class as a solo artist. In 1997, he was knighted for musical services by Queen Elizabeth II. He was awarded the Gershwin Prize in 2010 for his contributions to popular music.

As a popular musician in his younger days, he had been involved in several women. He met a photographer Linda Eastman in 1967 and married her in 1969. From a previous relationship, he adopted Linda’s daughter and had another three children. They were married in 1998 until Linda died of breast cancer. Paul McCartney married former model Heather Mills in 2002. The pair had a daughter, but it wasn’t long. In 2008, they had a bitter divorce. He married Nancy Shevell in New York in 2011.

He participated actively in various philanthropic activities. He strongly advocates vegetarianism and animal rights, champions a range of humanitarian causes, and supports charitable organizations fighting cancer. As a singer, composer, poet, writer, artist, humanitarian artist, entrepreneur and holder of more than 3,000 copyrights, Sir Paul McCartney is a key figure in contemporary culture. In the “Guinness Book of World Records,” he is the biggest paid audience (plus 350,000 people, in 1989 in Brazil), most of the records sold, the first one (shared), most of them covered, “Yesterday.” He is considered one of the best entertainers of all time.

Born in Liverpool General Hospital on June 18, 1942, James Paul McCartney was the nurse and sister of his mother, Mary Patricia (Mohin). His father, James “Jim” McCartney, was a salesman of cotton and a pianist at Liverpool, leading the Jim Mac jazz band. His ancestry is Irish and English. Young McCartney has been brought up non-denominationally. He studied music and arts with a younger brother, Michael, and he had a happy childhood. At the age of 11, he was only one of four students who took the 11+ examination known as the Liverpool Scholarship and took a place at the Liverpool Boys Institute. He studied there from 1953 to 1960, graduating in English and Art.

At the age of 14, the sudden death of his mother from breast cancer traumatized Paul McCartney. He wrote his first song shortly thereafter. In July 1957, he met John Lennon at a local church festival (festival). McCartney impressed Lennon in various styles with his mastery of guitar and chorus. Soon he joined Lennon’s band, The Quarrymen, and finally joined The Beatles with the help of George Harrison and Pete Best. The band went back to Liverpool after a few gigs in Hamburg, Germany, and played regular gigs at the cavern in 1961.

They invited Brian Epstein to be their manager in November 1961 and made a written agreement in January 1962. McCartney and Harrison were under 21 at that time, so the paper wasn’t technically legal, although they weren’t concerned. Their genuine confidence in Epstein was important. He improved their picture, secured an EMI record deal, and substituted Ringo Starr for drummer Best. The Beatles have consolidated their talents and mutual stimulation into wonderful teamwork with a little help from Brian Epstein and George Martin, starting the most successful career in entertainment culture.

All four members of The Beatles were individually talented and charismatic artists that moved from the outset. Paul McCartney had the privilege of having studied classical piano and guitar in his childhood, of a better musical education. He advanced as a leading vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and singer-songwriter. Paul McCartney played not only bass guitars, acoustic and electric guitars, piano, and keyboards but also more than forty other musical instruments as well.
