Sara Shepard, the author, was born in the USA on April 8th, 1977. Her novels Pretty Little Liars and The Lying Game have been international bestsellers and have been adapted into hit Freeform programs. In their younger years, Shepard and Alison were close. While ABC Family took an unusually long time to determine whether or not to renew The Lying Game beyond season 2, the cast’s contract options expired in April 2013.

The network confirmed the cancellation of The Lying Game shortly after Chando made the announcement on social media in July 2013.
