The events of her youth in Chester County are “loosely modeled” after those in the Pretty Little Liars books. The television adaptation Pretty Little Liars aired for seven seasons. Performers Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Shay Mitchell, and Lucy Hale portray Spencer Hastings, Hanna Marin, Emily Fields, and Aria Montgomery, respectively. Shepard had small appearances in “The Homecoming Hangover” and “I’m a Good Girl, I Am,” playing a substitute teacher and a news reporter, respectively.

We can’t wait to share more stories about our phenomenal group of little liars and learn more about their relationships, entanglements, and how they managed to become the reigning queens of scream. Obviously, Pretty Little Liars will continue, and everyone at HBO Max, Warner Bros. Television, and Alloy Entertainment is grateful to the fans who have kept the show going. Yes, as Tabby would say, there will be a continuation.

Sarah Aubrey, HBO Max’s Head of Original Content, is also pleased with the revival. We’re really proud of the reception Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin has earned from both reviewers and viewers, Aubrey said. Our new generation of Liars fans have embraced Roberto and Lindsay’s delightfully dark, horror-driven spin on the storied franchise. Together with Alloy and Warner Bros. Television, we can’t wait to keep the Pretty Little Liars legacy alive and well.

Bailee Madison, Chandler Kinney, Zaria, Malia Pyles, and Maia Reficco are among the cast of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, a film adaptation of Sara Shepard’s bestselling novel series. They’ll be joined by Mallory Bechtel, Sharon Leal, Elena Goode, Lea Salonga, Eric Johnson, and Alex Aiono, among others.

The summary states, “Twenty years ago, the blue-collar village of Millwood was nearly torn apart by a spate of catastrophic occurrences.” Present-day Little Liars, a varied collection of teenagers, are being tortured by an unknown attacker for the sins committed in the past by their parents and themselves. Dark, coming-of-age, horror-tinged drama, set in a new town with a new generation of Little Liars, but still part of the Pretty Little Liars universe.

In May of 2019, it was announced that Shepard will be producing the anthology web series Crown Lake, which would make its debut on Brat on June 20. Shepard’s podcast series, Cruise Ship, premiered on Meet Cute on July 6, 2021.

While ABC Family took an unusually long time to determine whether or not to renew The Lying Game beyond season 2, the cast’s contract options expired in April 2013.

Sutton Mercer and Emma Becker, two pivotal roles, were both portrayed by Chando. Characters Sofia Carson, Sydney Park, Eli Brown, and Kelly Rutherford portrayed in The Perfectionists were Ava Jalali, Caitlin Martell-Lewis, Dylan Wright, and Claire Hotchkiss.  Shepard’s 2014 novel The Heiresses inspired an ABC television series, and on September 29, 2017, it was announced that Shay Mitchell would play Corrine Saybrook in the show. As of the year 2018, the Heiresses have made no headway in the system.
